SPRING....

Yippee today is the official first day of Spring here in NZ and I have to say that if it stays as lovely as it has been today we are in for a good one!!!!! I am completely over winter now thank you very much, it has been very long and very wet and we are all in desperate need of some sunshine...

I am also completely over birthdays (well birthday cakes anyway), first it was mine then last week was my lovely MIL's 60th birthday and we had 2 celebratory evenings for this, then yesterday it was my darling hubby's birthday. I SERIOUSLY do not even want to think about the amount of cake that I have consumed over the past 2 weeks. We have had 2 x banana cakes, 3 x chocolate cakes, 1 x massive chocolate and raspberry cream cake , cupcakes, brandy snaps filled with cream and so much more that I feel sick even thinking about it. Of course diet is starting (AGAIN) today, it is Monday after all.

Yesterday for Julian's birthday we had some friends and family round for drinks and nibbles, the sun was out again and we had such a great day. Kalem made a fantastic book for Dad about the Olympics and included in it a No. 1 Dad gold medal...how sweet he is!
