A few weeks ago Julian and I watched the film INTO THE WILD, the true story of Christoper McCandless's journey to Alaska to live in the wilderness. It is one of those rare films that stay with you once you have finished watching, a true masterpiece directed by the 'oh so cool' Sean Penn. It's probably not every one's cup of tea..., but it really touched me!
If you have not seen it, then check it out it is powerful, dramatic, touching, sad, brilliant, complex, insightful, moving, beautiful.......it is in fact all of these things and more. It was also the first film that I have been able to watch without falling asleep since having Lola, so it really must have been good!
The soundtrack is also AMAZING.... by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame). Julian went out and bought it soon after watching the film and I am in LOVE with it. I think that the track 'SOCIETY' totally sums up the film...................... (my kids are seriously fed up of hearing it!)
