More sewing.....

I have been doing some MORE sewing, just can't seem to get enough. Really though you should see the state of my house (my mum would not be pleased), but I figure my need to create is far greater than my need to do the DUSTING........

Talia was really pleased with her bag and as it was my second attempt it turned out much better than the first!
I just love this toadstool fabric, just perfect for my little fairy princess!

I also made this little owl from the book 'more softies'. The kids have been fighting over him all day so he has now found a new home in the garden. I am pretty sure that he will be much happier sitting on this branch in the PEACE and QUIET, lucky, lucky owl........

Bitten by the sewing bug...

I have been quite busy sewing recently and am starting to get the hang of my sewing machine at last!! I made this sweet little tote from the 'Bend the Rules' sewing book yesterday. It is for a little friend of Talia's who is having a birthday party this weekend. I am determined to make as many presents as possible this year, I am going to pop in some eco-pencils, but that doesn't count as they come from a gorgeous little local shop that sells fabulous handmade things. Of course Talia has requested a little bag of her very own, but that's okay as I actually really enjoyed making this.....

Not a great photo, but look a little pocket inside, it's my favourite part. The back of the bag is the same spotty fabric as the lining.

My lovely little model
I also made a little wrap around dress for Talia's doll 'Tilly'. I drew up the pattern myself so it's a bit rough around the edges and a little on the large side, but Talia loves it and that's all that really matters. She has now requested that I make Tilly some pyjama's, hmm not sure how I am going to manage that, but apparently Tilly is starting to get cold at night and we can't have that now can we........

Right am off to do some more sewing, it's quite addictive isn't it!!! X

Lola is one....

Hello again........... I seem to have had a much longer bloggy break than anticipated. For the last few weeks my oldest and dearest friend Kate has been visiting us from England. It had been 3 years since her last visit so as you can imagine we had a lot to catch up on, this involved drinking ridiculous amounts of tea and sitting on the couch for hours chatting! She has gone home now and the house feels empty without her, but it is time for me to get back to reality and start on that list of things to do when Kate goes....... Believe me the list is scarily long, but first on the agenda is updating my blog and finding out what all my lovely bloggy friends have been up to during the last couple of weeks. I think that this is going to require ignoring the housework and a few more cups of tea!!!!!

Well the most important thing by far that has happened is that our adorable little Lola turned one........ It is hard to believe that a whole year has gone by, it really seems to have flown.

The birthday girl sitting with Nana wondering what all the fuss is about.

So that's what cake tastes like hmmmmm.......

What's in here then????????
Sitting in her favourite place, eating a present and wearing her new baby legs....
A wheely bug, her present from Nanny and Grandad. She's not really sure what to do with it at the moment, but I don't think it will be long before she is scooting around the house.

Due to being very busy drinking tea (did I mention we also ate a LOT of cake...) and chatting I did not get around to making the lovely knitted monkey that was my plan for Lola's birthday, bad, bad mother!!!! My children however put me to shame and both made something for their little sis. Kalem spent ages making this wonderful embroidery of a sunflower for her, isn't it great!!!!

Talia drew this gorgeous picture of Lola as her birthday gift. I am so proud that they both appreciate the importance of a gift handmade with love.

Happy 1st birthday Lolly-Bell our precious little treasure. You are such a ray of sunshine, you have the cheekiest grin and you make us all laugh every day. You are so busy at the moment crawling around and getting into everything, learning about your world. You adore being with your big brother and sister and they adore being with you. You love to sit under the Keyboard and listen while Kalem plays a tune and you love just hanging out with Talia in her room, playing dolls or reading books. You can't get to the door fast enough to be lifted up in Daddy's arms when he gets home from work and you love to cuddle up with Mummy and sing songs. You are such a sweet natured child and we are blessed to have you in our lives little one, know always that you are deeply loved by us all..............XXXX
