Horse riding and bags....

We all had such a lovely weekend which included a stay over at Nana's house for all of us. We settled the kids in for the night and went off to a friends 40Th just down the road and then went back to sleep at Nana's too. It was lovely and I even got a cup of tea in bed in the morning from my very sweet mother-in-law. She also got up with the kids so that that Julian and I got a sleep in, I definitely did well when they were giving out Mother-in-laws don't you think.....

Kalem and Talia went on their first horse ride on Sunday which they loved. I forgot my camera so no photo's which is a shame as Talia looked so adorable as she was wearing a pair of jodhpurs that were handed down to her from a friend, she really looked the part. We are quite lucky that the horse riding school is just over the rode from Nana's house and every time that Talia is there they go over to see the horses, but this was her very first time riding one. kalem actually rode his horse for a bit with nobody leading him, so he felt very grown up.....

I also thought that I would show the bags that I made last week, I can't seem to stop!!! The first bag is the same as the fern like one I recently made from this tutorial here. I actually made this bag for a friend who has just had a baby, I know that she will love the purple fabric and I thought it was a good sized bag for carting around all of that essential baby stuff.

The second bag I made on Friday night while Julian took Kalem and Talia to the Tball prize giving and disco. I stayed at home with Lola and made the most of the quiet time and being able to actually get my sewing machine out and leave it out! I needed a bag to hold my WIP knitting project as I was sick of looking at the hideous plastic bag that it was in. If I make this bag again I would use thicker fabric as my version of the bag is quite floppy, but I love it just the same!! You can find the pattern here if you are interested in making one yourself. If you follow the link make sure that you check out the Needled blog, you will love it especially if you are a knitter......

Hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend...

The purple bag is brilliant and I know what you mean about that tute being a bit addictive! I have made a bamboo one and a poppy one and last ngiht made a slight variation in a black print for me (show pics later).

Bag making is sooooo good!

Your fairy is called Tangle Saturnwand
She is a trouble maker.
She lives at the bottom of tangled gardens and in hedgerows.
She is only seen when the seer holds a four-leafed clover.
She wears tangled dresses of multicoloured petals. She has delicate pale pink wings like a cicada.
